We are proud to announce the launch of our community-led research report, the Pandemic Preparedness and Response: Voices of People Who Use Drugs. This report gives a global perspective on the experiences of people who use drugs during the Covid-19 and evidence-based recommendations to inform the drafting of the Pandemic Treaty, an initiative of the WHO.
Pandemic Preparedness and Response: Voices of People who use Drugs, a valuable tool for making sure people who use drugs are included in the development of a pandemic treaty. This research paper documents the severe effects the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the health, economic activity and human rights violations of people who use drugs. Additionally, it highlights their commitment to maintaining critical services despite limited resources. The document was compiled through community-driven research in partnership with the Global Health Centre of the Geneva Graduate Institute involving network members from Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia.
