In November, INPUD’s Programme manager Gayane Arustamyan attended the Regional Forum “Implementation of the Global Fund’s Community Engagement Technical Assistance (CE TA) Program in the EECA region in 2021-2022: Lessons learned and way forward”.
In providing technical support to regions, we hope to build regional and national networks with enhanced abilities to protect and enhance the health and rights of people who used drugs. To achieve this, our Programme Manager Gayane Arustamyan attended the Regional Forum “Implementation of the Global Fund’s Community Engagement Technical Assistance (CE TA) Program in the EECA region in 2021-2022: Lessons learned and way forward”.
From the networks of PWUD there were
European Network of People who Use Drugs (EuroNPUD), Matt Southwell. Georgian Harm Reduction Network, Maka Gogia, Association Harm Reduction Network in Kyrgyzstan, Sergey Bessonov and Olga Byelyaeva from the Eurasian Network of People who use drugs (ENPUD) joined remotely and participated in a number of discussions
The Forum took place in Istanbul in Turkey, was organised by Eurasian Harm Reduction Association (EHRA), which is as a host of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) Regional Platform for Communication and Coordination. The objective of the Forum was to discuss, exchange and learn from existing technical support in the region, and particularly to review the results of the mid-term implementation of the Global Fund CE TA Program in EECA region in 2021–2022. One of the key highlights of the Forum was the need to ensure linkage between the outcomes of short-term TA with a longer-term technical support. In this sense, INPUD’s role was instrumental in providing technical advice in a number of EECA countries and supporting the community of people who use drugs in meaningful engagement in the GF processes.
