With Deepest Condolences and In Loving Memory of Louise Vincent

Louise Vincent

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Louise Vincent, INPUD’s Interim Chair, a long-time Board Member, a respected friend, and a true peer leader in our global movement.

Louise was a fearless advocate, a powerful voice for justice, and a guiding light to so many of us in the struggle for the rights, health, and dignity of people who use drugs. Through her work with INPUD, the North Carolina Survivors Union (NCSU), and the North American Network of People who Use Drugs (NANPUD), she shaped policy, saved lives, and inspired a generation of activists and peers.

Her leadership was rooted in lived experience, and her heart never wavered in the face of adversity. Louise brought fierce love, unrelenting truth, and boundless compassion to everything she did. She was a sister, comrade, mentor, and friend — and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and worked alongside her.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, her loved ones, and to our friends and colleagues at North Carolina Survivors Union and NANPUD. The loss of Louise is immeasurable, but so too is the legacy she leaves behind.

Rest in power, Louise. We will carry your torch forward.

On behalf of the INPUD Team and the global community of people who use drugs
